Adding Some Spunk To Your Laundry Basket

Adding Some Spunk To Your Laundry Basket

Today I came across to my laundry basket’s gray handle cap falling off on me, again! I came to the realization that the gray cap had a small lip that broke off and I was motivated to find something to make it stay on. Super Glue, my go-to-glue in the house did not work. With the laundry basket being fairly new and the body of the basket still very sturdy and not worn out, I had the “lightbulb” moment. It was to use ribbon at home to add the “spunk” and life to the everyday essential of a laundry basket. Doing laundry without a laundry basket makes it almost impossible, having to hand carry out clothes from the dryer and dropping socks or face towels on the floor even after folding them!

Here was my quick fix to my Sterilite laundry basket and I hope you will enjoy it! Plus, if you have multiple laundry baskets in the house for different family members or purposes, adding some ribbon can also color coordinate them to identify what it is used for or for who it belongs to. It would also be a fun activity for a child to decorate his/her laundry basket to promote laundry help around the house too! In addition, laundry folding and putting away of clothes will be a synch with style!

With this idea, the flexibility in color ribbon chosen can also be changed throughout the year and season even though the handles are not broken. The added touch to the basket makes it fun and adds extra comfort to the handles. To change out the ribbon throughout the year, cut the ribbon on the underside of the handle and re-wrap the handles with a different style and color of ribbon and repeat the same steps to wrap on a new set.
