If you are a Costco Wholesale member and have not tried this awesome Shells and White Cheddar or Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese Dinner, you must!! This was my first time trying this Mac N Cheese because I was accustomed to having Annies. However, the Costco I shop at no longer carries the Annie’s Homegrown. I decided to give this one a try, Back to Nature Organic Macaroni and Cheese Dinner because the price point was amazing and it was free of food coloring and preservatives.
I personally did not grow up eating very health conscience in terms of avoiding food coloring, pesticides, hormones, and preservatives. However, my view has changed in trying out these organic or preservative-free foods or non-gmo foods. To my surprise, the foods taste a whole lot better and depending on the item, it can be cheaper than buying a well-known branded food item for less with health benefits. With so much out on the market, I have begun to be more aware of these chemicals. Well, with the past couple of experiences of exploring organic foods, it has encouraged me to be open-minded to these options.
With that in mind, I am so glad I purchased a 12-pack of Back to Nature Macaroni & Cheese Dinner. At Costco they have an additional rebate/coupon off the entire pack, so the price point was even more enticing. My family has tried both flavors, the Cheddar and White Cheddar and they are both very good. We have also not used the milk as it is desired in the recipe to make the mix. Whether you use the milk option or not, both options are just as tasty. Having the little amount of milk mixed in, makes the dish a little more creamy and tasting heavier. Without the milk, we replaced it with water and the recipe tastes lighter but is still very appetizing. In addition, we felt that the White Cheddar was a fair comparison of an Alfredo Pasta flavor, which is nothing against an Alfredo flavor, but the variety of both cheddars makes the dinners even more fun. If you have not purchased a Back to Nature food item, you must try this!! Add in some meat and some veggies and you are good to go!
