Brownies are baked with all different textures and consistencies. This batch was a chewy consistency. On the back of the box, it mentions to add 2 eggs instead of 1 egg if one prefers a cake-like structure in their brownie. I for one, prefer the chewy styled brownie. It adds the extra chew which allows me to savor more of every bite I take from each brownie as opposed to a cake-like textured brownie.

The recipe calls for ¼ cup water, ¼ cup vegetable oil, and 1 egg. I would say that this batch of brownie mix is a good starter for one who is starting to bake and is also cutting out butter. This batch does not need butter!

Instructions on the box are also very easy to follow and when it comes to baking, easy is good especially if it is your first time baking!

Aside from making the brownies, I also added some Hershey’s HUGS Raspberry Flavored Candies on some of the brownie pieces. Adding the candy on top of the brownie added the extra fun flavor out of the brownie. It was delicious. It tasted as though the brownie had a raspberry filling. Adding the candy also gives it a “pop” to your brownie making it festive and fun. Such a delicious treat!

Ingredients:

1- Box Betty Crocker Original Supreme Premium Brownie Mix With Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup

1/4- Cup Water

1/4- Cup Vegetable Oil

1- Egg

1- Baking Pan (Any size will do, the smaller the pan, thicker the brownie. Bigger the pan, thinner brownie pieces.)

When mixing the ingredients, I used my KitchenAid Stand Mixer. This recipe does not need a stand mixer. Any form of handheld kitchen appliance to stir up the ingredients will work just as well.

Baked the brownies at 325 degrees for 28 minutes (Recipe called for more time, but my brownies were done when I used a toothpick to test the batch while still in the oven. The toothpick had no residue of the batter. The top layer of the brownie also resembled a thin fluffy layer. It was another indication that the brownie was ready to be taken out). Let it cool by placing it over a cooling rack outside of the oven. Sliced the brownies while they were still warm in the pan. Placed the candy on top of the brownies, and covered with foil.
