Food is the essence of my everyday passion and excitement, so I decided to venture onto opentable website to see what restaurant caught my eye for a Friday night dinner. Low and behold, to dine at Technique at Le Cordon Bleu, in Pasadena reservations were required and I was able to book a table for two the same week even though Technique allows to book reservations one week in advance.
Atmosphere is elegant, bright, with high ceilings, and clean! The ambience allows you to see through the windows where the pastry chef and chefs manage their expertise of preparing their food for you. The restaurant was a modern setup and the meal was easy, quick, and fairly priced for the Prix Fixe menu they had for $25. The Prix Fixe menu includes a starter, entree, and dessert. Presentation was exquisite, and their bread was special. Served was a mini lemon raspberry corn bread muffin and a latte flavored roll. Whether your appetite is small to large, the experience in dining at Technique at Le Cordon Bleu will give you a feeling of sitting on set at a tv film show broadcasting or maybe something like Gordon Ramsay’s Hells Kitchen where guests are waiting to be served their meal but our meal was chosen on our own. The ambience was quiet, nothing like what is displayed in the show Hells Kitchen, but it did give you a glimpse of how it is to be working as a Chef depending on one’s specialty.
Again, this post, is not to criticize any foods served at the restaurant or any celebrity chefs. I write this to share my experience with you and if you are in town, you may want to check out Technique at Le Cordon Bleu.

Starters: Baby Green Salad-pear, Fourme d’Ambert, caramelized pecans, Champagne vinaigrette
Caprese Salad- heirloom tomato, burrata, micro greens, basil oil
Entree: Lamb Porterhouse- crushed potato, English peas, mustard jus
Beef & Broccoli- medium rare short rib steak, sautéed Romanesco, charred onion
Dessert: S’more- crustless chocolate cheesecake, marshmallow ice cream brûlée, sea salt crumble
Sticky Rice Pudding- basmati rice, mango habanero sorbet, coconut snow
