Glass Paint: Pros and Cons

Glass Paint: Pros and Cons

A project in tinting Mason Jars was an experiment I wanted to achieve and the results were easy to identify. I purchased a Martha Stewart Crafts: Glass Paint Liquid Fill Transparent in Lipstick Pink and a Gallery Glass Window Color by Plaid in Aqua. Though my review may be subject to one project and purpose and/or the results may be different, I felt that the Martha Stewart Glass Paint Liquid was by far the best achieving paint for the purpose of tinting the mason jar. I unearthed this blog called, Something Turquoise and she introduced this Martha Stewart Liquid Paint, however, when shopping at Michaels, next to the Martha Stewart Liquid Paint sat the Gallery Glass Window Color. I wanted to try both paints to see which one yielded a better result. The end result was that I loved the Martha Stewart Liquid Paint because it had a smoother flow down to the glass, making the tinting of the glass very easy and quick. Once the coating was on the glass, I gave a full 24 hours for the paint to set in before baking it in the oven. Check out my full blog post, DIY Mason Jar Soap Dispenser to see the full results of my Liquid Fill Transparent Paint.

We tried out two different glass paints for this project. The Martha Stewart brand covered slightly lighter and a bit easier than the other brand.
