It wasn’t until I watched the videos from Yolanda Soto Lopez and I was amazed on her results in achieving Quilt Squares using a Jelly Roll. I must admit, I had never known that Jelly Rolls existed or rather, I have seen them but never made the two and two connection with them until Yolanda brightened my horizon with these awesome rolls. I was in awe when she made such a cute and obtainable design for a beginner like myself using a jelly roll. I must say that this idea was great and easy to do. I made this jelly roll design a while back to try out her suggestions where you can watch her three videos down below. Sure enough I achieved it and I was amazed. If you have not sewn with a jelly roll before, there are often good buys on these Jelly Roll designs at your local craft store especially if you have a coupon. I find that even though you can cut your own strips to make your own version of a Jelly Roll, it involves a dedication in time and investment on all your various fabric coordinating and cutting time to create your strips for your own Jelly Roll. Plus, purchasing a Jelly Roll allows you to have all the fabrics given to you that have all the colors in each and every pattern. The job of choosing fabric is fun, but the chosen Jelly Roll patterns are a good start when learning how to sew and quilt. Check out her three videos below and see what you can do! I hope you can share with me your ideas on how and what you have made with a Jelly Roll!
